Mid-century Modern (MCM) Coffee Table, Maple/Birch, Heywood-Wakefield. This dainty piece has spider legs, two tiers (one shelf) and curved edge tabletop. Dates 1950 to 1955. Heywood-Wakefield MCM Coffee or Side Table in natural amber finish mostly birch and possibly some maple. This dainty piece has spider legs, two tiers (one shelf) and curved edge tabletop. Varnishes are period-sensitive and often (though not always) waxed for a final coating. Some restored pieces are repaired; and when repaired, skills/craft used is as close as possible to period craft. Veneers are replaced and pieced in, breaks often settled with carved similar/same wood species. Joinery is doweled/mortise and tenon as original, eg.
